How to Copy an Instagram Story Link

An Instagram Story link identifies one currently available story item. It is different from a profile URL, post link or Reel address and should be used only when the selected service targets an active story.

Stories are time-limited. The target must still be available when it is checked and processed. Before submitting a link, confirm that it opens the exact story you selected and has not expired, been deleted or become restricted.

Instagram Stories Are Temporary Targets

A standard Instagram post or Reel can remain available until the account owner removes or archives it. A story is published for a limited period and becomes unavailable after its active window ends.

This timing difference matters for story views, poll votes and other story-based actions. Creating a request while the story is available does not extend its lifetime. The target must remain active long enough to be reached.

Open the Exact Story You Want to Use

Go to the Instagram profile that published the story and open the required story item. If the account has uploaded several story slides, move to the exact photo, video, poll or interactive slide you want to target.

Do not remain on the profile page or copy the account address. The intended story should be open on the screen before you use the available sharing controls.

Copying a Story Link in the Instagram App

While viewing the active story, open the sharing or menu options displayed by Instagram. Depending on the device, account and current app version, a copy link or share option may be available.

Select the option that copies or shares the story address, then paste it into a browser, note app or the relevant Quantaps target field. Check that the link returns to the intended active story rather than only opening the creator profile.

Story Sharing Options May Vary

Instagram does not show identical sharing controls for every story. Available options can depend on the account type, privacy settings, story owner, device and app version.

If a direct link cannot be copied, do not replace it with a profile URL, screenshot or unrelated post link. A story-based service still requires a target that identifies the active story according to the form instructions.

Profile, Post, Reel and Story Targets Are Not Interchangeable

Each Instagram service must receive the target type it was designed for:

  • Profile link: Opens the Instagram account.
  • Post link: Opens one photo, carousel or feed video.
  • Reel link: Opens one Reel.
  • Story target: Opens or identifies one active story item.

A profile link does not identify which story should receive views or actions. A post or Reel link points to permanent content and cannot replace an active story target.

One Story Target Covers One Story Item

An account may publish several story slides in sequence, but each slide can contain a different image, video, poll or interactive element. The selected target should identify the particular story item required by the service.

A request for one poll slide should not be expected to cover another poll, slider or video later in the same story sequence. When several story items need separate actions, each target should be handled individually according to the form.

Public Access and Story Privacy

The story must be accessible under the conditions required by the selected service. Stories limited to close friends, private profiles or restricted audiences may not be reachable outside the allowed viewer group.

When possible, test the target from another browser or account. This helps determine whether the story is publicly reachable or visible only through your current Instagram session.

Deleted and Expired Stories Cannot Be Reached

If the account owner deletes the story, the target ends immediately. When the normal story period expires, the public story also becomes unavailable even if the owner can still see it in the archive.

An archived story is not the same as an active story. Restoring the same media as a new story creates a new time-limited target and should be treated as a separate publication.

Story Polls Require the Correct Slide and Option

For an Instagram story poll service, the target must lead to the story slide containing the active poll. A nearby photo, video or different story slide is not enough.

The required poll option must also be selected correctly in the form. A first option, second option or option label should be checked before submission. A vote directed to the wrong choice should not be expected to move to another option later.

Polls, Emoji Sliders and Other Story Actions Differ

A standard two-option poll, emoji slider and other interactive story elements represent different actions. They should not be treated as interchangeable unless the selected service explicitly supports them.

Choose the service that matches the interactive element currently shown in the story. Do not submit an emoji slider as a normal poll or assume that a general story view service includes poll votes or other actions.

Submitting Early Does Not Guarantee Completion Before Expiry

Story-based services depend on the remaining availability of the target. An order or free request may still be affected by queue conditions, processing requirements and the time left before the story expires.

Submit the correct target while the story has sufficient time remaining. Avoid waiting until the final part of its active period, especially for a poll or action that must be completed before the story closes.

No Instagram Login Details Are Needed

Copying or submitting an active story target does not require your Instagram password, email password, login session, backup code or two-factor authentication code.

Do not share private login information or enter a verification code into the target field. The form should contain only the requested story target, option details when required and the customer information shown during checkout.

Instagram Story Target Checklist

  • The intended story item is still active.
  • The target identifies the exact story rather than only the profile.
  • The story is accessible under the service requirements.
  • The target is not a post, Reel or screenshot.
  • The correct poll option or story action has been selected when required.
  • The story has not been deleted, restricted or limited to close friends.
  • No password or verification code has been entered.

After completing these checks, submit the active story target through the relevant Quantaps form. Keep the story available until the selected request or order has finished.
